The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade 281 pages
A variant on Heaven Can Wait. Snobbish popular senior is smashed by an uncoming vehicle. There is a delay as to her ultimate assignment and she remains on earth, pretty much incognito until she "re-meets" the strange, unfriendly goth kid. He actually recognizes her and can communicate with her. It turns out that he "sees" ghosts. Pretty soon, they are having a "relationship" although Alona is the first to admit that she never would have given him the time of day before she met her fate. She acts as his intermediary with the dead running interference so he doesn't get bogged down with the many requests of the fellow dead. Alona transforms from the snobby girl into almost an activist. (It turns out that she, like Will has pretty heavy problems back at home). Okay, but not memorable.
