Three quarters dead by Richard Peck 193 pages
While Newbery winner Richard Peck never had any children, he totally understands high school cliques from a female point of view. Kerry, a perennial follower finds herself adopted by the cool girl trio. Life at the top though, is rather stressful because Tanya is totally manipulating Kerry. It turns out that the trio was in a fatal car accident, but Tanya is able to slow time and wants to get revenge on the one guy who turned her down. Can Kerry find the strength to save Prom Night? It is subtle, but Peck addresses bullying, cliques and friendship in this not so fluffy book.
