The Daughters Break the Rules by Joanna Philbin 275 pages
Sequel to The Daughters, is more of the same. Carina gets in minor trouble after she blogs that her uber rich dad, is actually a thief. At first it looks like she might be wrenched from her best friends, but they come to her rescue and she returns to New York When she accuses her father of trying to buy her affection, he confiscates her credit cards and trades her iphone for a dumb phone. Since she wants to travel to the Alps for a ski vacation with her new crush and his entourage, she's got to come up with some cash. She is hired by her arch-enemy to be the party planner for the school's major fundraiser/ winter ball. Although she thought that she would only have to make a few phone calls to Daddy's party wizards, she finds that she might actually have to start baking cupcakes! She meets a hunky DJ, who just happens to have a sister that whips up table decorations. I can totally see this as a CW TV show. I would NEVER watch it, but the book sure is easy to read.
