Beat the Reaper

Beat the Reaper by Josh Bazell 304 pg.

After putting this book on every staff picks list that I can possibly justify, it occurred to me maybe this isn't as good as I remember from reading it in January 2009. So, against my usual logic of never re-reading a book since there are so many other ones on my list to read, I decide to listen to the audio version of this book. Wow, this is such a profane story with all kinds of graphic violence and gross happenings. I kind of forgot about all that. But also it is so amazing...funny, creative, believably unbelievable. All I can say is thank the Christ that I read this again. Josh Bazell, you have kept us waiting long enough...we need another book. - Christa
