The bridge at the edge of the world

The bridge at the edge of the world: capitalism, the environment and crossing from crisis to sustainability/ James Gustave Speth 320 pgs.

This is a real eye opener that lists our environmental "issues" and how poorly we are dealing with them. The author is an acclaimed environmentalist and he does not mince his words. Things aren't looking too good but then he gives us some hope towards the end as he observes that attitudes do seem to be changing. He doesn't let us off the hook and has pretty clearly delineated a LOT of suggestions about what needs to be done. Not exactly an uplifting book but at the same time, all is not lost. - Christa
