Somehow this is my first time meeting NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas. Set in the near future Eve is just about to enjoy a work holiday, Peace Day, when she gets the call that cannot be ignored. NYSPD Captain MacMasters and his wife return home early from their vacation to discover their daughter viciously murdered. Fortunately her husband Roarke has a fortune at his fingertips and is able to assist her. But it seems like the villain has inside knowledge and is able to jump two steps ahead. Neat technological weapons, forensics and sexy characters made this a great quick vacation read enjoyed both by my husband and me.
