Y: The Last Man: One Small Step (Y: The Last Man, volume 3), by Brian K. Vaughan; graphic novel, science fiction, dystopia; 168 pages
The concept of Vaughan's third collected edition is pretty intriguing: after all the men have been killed in unknown circumstances, Yorick Brown is the last man on earth. But there are two more men trapped in a space station orbiting the planet, who have been unaffected. The problem is, their equipment is decayed and in poor repair, after almost a year on their own in space--can they survive reentry? And even if they can, will they be cut down by the same thing that killed the rest of the men? After running into a Russian agent bent on the men's safe return, Yorick and company take yet another detour to meet the landing capsule.
This is another quick read (I read it over two lunch periods), but the tight plotting makes it clear that Vaughan knows where this story is headed. Starting volume four tonight.
