Batman: Bruce Wayne, Fugitive, vol. 1/Ed Brubaker, et al

Batman: Bruce Wayne, Fugitive, vol 1 by Ed Brubaker, Chuck Dixon, and others; graphic novel, superheroes; 160 pages

The name of this arc is misleading: while this is volume one of the storyline, this actually follows closely on the events of Bruce Wayne, Murderer; unfortunately, I didn't know that, so I've missed the actual murder, and Bruce's escape from Blackgate Prison. This book does a nice job of summing up, though, so it was pretty easy to dive right in.

When this book opens, Bruce Wayne is Gotham's most wanted, and Batman, feeling angry and betrayed, has abandoned his alter ego. He spends all his time fighting crime, and none trying to clear his own name. That job falls to the other superheroes of Gothatm: Oracle, Nightwing, Batgirl and Robin. But whoever committed the crime was also a master at erasing evidence--and the only person with that kind of expertise is Batman himself.
