The Lives of Sacco and Vanzetti by Rick Geary 80 pp.
This is another in the "Treasury of XXth Century Crime" graphic novel series. This one concerns a 1920 payroll robbery in Braintree, Massachusetts where two men were killed. Bartolomeo Vanzetti and Nicola Sacco were ultimately arrested, tried, and executed for the crime. The trial was a travesty of questionable witnesses, sketchy evidence, and prejudice against the immigrants and their anarchist politics. The outcome of the case caused riots around the world.
I am a big fan of Geary's work. As always, he presents the facts succinctly and his black and white artwork is clean and well suited to the topic.
Here is another U. City review of Sacco and Vanzetti.
