Girl, Stolen by April Henry 211
16 year old Cheyenne Wilder is sleeping in the back seat of her step-mother's car, when a young boy, Griffen steals it. So, what is more unbelievable -- that she is blind or the daughter of the president of Nike. Griffen isn't the smartest thief, he brings her home to Dad. "Dad" would make Fagin (of Oliver Twist) look like a genteel caregiver. He gets members of his stolen car gang, dumb and dumber, and tries to figure out how to get the most money out of his son's find. Griffen has second thoughts and is kind of attracted to the damsel-in-distress and decides to try and save her. Readers will quickly feel the grime and filth of Griffen's home and wonder whether Cheyenne's sight (which has been gone for 4 years) will return in time to save her. Guess I would give this about a C+.
