This is not Andrew Clements top shelf reading. Frindle is just one of my many favorite titles. It could be that he is trying for a series when just one volume might have sufficed. Anyway, Ben and Jill are back, trying to save their school by being demolished by greedy real estate speculators who want to replace the venerable school with an amusement park. Ben had been awarded the coin passed down by generations of custodial caretakers; (the new custodian, Lyman is the bad guy trying to help bring the school down). Jill is worried that she is going against her dad, who is one of the investors of the real estate project. A retired custodian comes to their aid. Harmless fun.
