Mostly Good Girls by Leila Sales 347pages

Violet's junior year at exclusive Westfield School takes an unexpected turn when best friend Kate, brilliant, beautiful, successful Kate, begins making choices that Violet is uncomfortable with. Kate chooses a loser for a boy friend and encourages Violet to co-author an article that costs her the editor-in-chief position on the school newspaper. Violet learns to stand on her own two feet and questions the politics that rule her school. Most readers will enjoy meeting Violet but would be glad that they are not enrolled at Westfield!
