Chime by Franny Billingsley; young adult, fantasy, mystery; 368 pages
I don't know how to even begin to describe this book. It's a mystery, historical fiction, fantasy, and romance all in one. I opened this book without knowing anything about it, and I think I enjoyed it more because of that. It's also written in one of the most unique styles I've come across in a long time, so it was a pleasure to just enjoy the language while I read.
I'd previously had several people recommend Billingsley to me, and now I can see why. I'll definitely be checking out more of her books in the future!
