Subject Seven by James A Moore 327 pages

A private corporation attempts to create the ultimate military weapons. Teenagers are trained to be consummate assassins living as "normal" teens until they are awakened by a secret command. It looks like the experiment is a costly failure and most of the subjects are ordered destroyed. The last one with promise is examined through inhumane procedures. He escapes and plots to assemble the rest of the subjects who had been adopted out into society. While the premise has been used before, the details are definitely different. These teens actually body shift when they assume their original identities and there is a struggle between the old and new personas. There is a bit of a mystery discovering the identity of Subject Seven. Lots of action and food for thought. The abrupt ending suggests a sequel down the road.
