The Matisse Stories/ A.S. Byatt 134 pgs.This is a thin volume with only three stories but each is so wonderful, you are sad when you are done. I read this many years ago and had a memory of one story that made me seek it out again. My memory was not perfect but the story turned out even better than I thought. Truly a hallmark of a great book, thinking about a part of it over 15 years after the original reading. Perhaps I'll touch base again in a couple of decades.
