The Adventures of Blanche by Rick Geary 103 pp.
And so I continue my Geary obsession. This book is a compilation of 3 episodes of the Blanche adventures that were originally published individually. The stories supposedly are based on letters found in the attic of the author's grandmother. In the first episode, Blanche, an accomplished pianist, travels to New York to continue her studies. Episode two sends her to Hollywood where she works in movie industry and meets luminaries like D.W. Griffith, Charlie Chaplin, and others. And the third episode sends her to Paris where she works with Picasso and Satie. In all three, Blanche ends up in an unrealistic situation with a fantastical ending. It's amusing but I prefer Geary's historical graphic novels.
