Dimestore: A writer’s life, by Lee Smith

Known for her novels set in Appalachia , this is a love letter to the small Virginia community where Lee Smith grew up.  Her father owned the dimestore in town.  She grew up surrounded by kin, folk music, and tradition.  Storytelling was a way of life. She had to leave home to discover her voice was from home.  202 pp.
