Fables. Vol. 18. Cubs in Toyland by Bill Willingham, 190 pages
This is one of the best Fables storylines in quite some time. In Cubs in Toyland, Willingham focuses on the cubs (children) of Bigby and Snow, specifically Therese, who is spirited away to become the queen of a world filled with old, discarded, beat-up toys. It's nice that Willingham chooses to focus so closely on a single storyline this time around, as previous volumes have jumped around a bit more. Had he done that in Cubs in Toyland, Therese's sweet, sad tale would have suffered. This is a good one.
