Robopocalypse

Robopocalypse / Daniel H. Wilson 347 pgs.

In the future when the robots turn against us, the helpful domestic robots will scare us the most.  The male version of the "butler" or "helper" is Big Happy and he has the iconic happy face...always smiling.  When he turns on you and uses his strong pincers to pop your head off your body or crush your jaw, his happy face will be splattered with your blood but still smiling as he continues to hunt you.  In my mind, the "female" domestic robot looks just like Rosey, the maid from "The Jetsons" cartoon.  In most movie versions of the impending robot war, the robots are ugly and menacing...the idea of the helper robots turning blood thirsty is just scarier somehow.

I enjoyed this book and briefly considered going "Luddite" because that is the only possible way you are going to survive the uprising but instead I'll vote that it won't happen for awhile and continue playing ridiculous computer games and using all my electronic gadgets.
