City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare 424 pages

This is book four in The Mortal Instruments series. I LOVED book one and book two was pretty good. This episode dragged perhaps because the BIG war is over, but Clare was encouraged to drag out more episodes. Clary can finally claim Jace as her boyfriend, but something seems a bit off about him. Meanwhile, Simon is having trouble adjusting to being a vampire (he hasn't had any human blood yet) and balancing two girl friends. He does acquire a new roommate (Mom does not like the "new" Simon) who has a big furry secret of his own. And, someone or something is murdering Shadowhunters. So, it's not like there is nothing going on-- plenty of subplots, but still so much time is spent describing how hot Jace is. I guess my advice would be to just stick with the first two or possibly three books.
