The Blue Bistro by Elin Hilderbrand 324 pages 0312319533

What is the best way to escape dreary, wintry days, but a sunny, frothy beach read? Adrienne escapes from a hotel job in a Colorado resort to land on her feet at a gourmet Nantucket restaurant. Despite a total lack of restaurant experience the boyish owner, Thatcher sees something special in her and hires her to be the hostess for the restaurant's final season. The fabled, spectacular chef, Fiona Kemp seems to be a recluse, never stepping out from the kitchen and refusing all interviews with the media. She also has a special relationship with Thatcher. Adrienne is quickly accepted by the restaurant's motley staff and finds herself drawn to Thatcher despite her prior history of failed romances. The descriptions of food is mouthwatering -- I would make a trip just to dine at the Blue Bistro. Sudsy, but yummy.
