Days of destruction, days of revolt by Chris Hedges & Joe Sacco 302 pgs.
Yes, I realize when you read this title you don't immediately think "surely this will be an uplifting book." I really underestimated just how horribly depressing many of these entries turned out to be. On the one hand, it helps you feel lucky for situation assuming you aren't a slave, living in the most poverty stricken/crime ridden city in the country or being poisoned by nearby industry or a native American. But more than anything it made me feel overwhelmed by the really horrible things going on out there. In the end, the entry about the "revolt" makes you think that change is possible but still leaves you with a bit of dread.
Wow, guess I better try to recover from this with some holiday baking.
