Maker of Shadows by Joshua Coben 61 pgs.Continuing with my attempt to expose myself to good poetry, I checked this book out because the author did a reading here at UCPL. Unfortunately I was working the desk that night and didn't get to attend but had a lovely chat with him on his way out of the library. Very nice guy and now the author of my new favorite poem which I will quote here:
Rejection Slip
I've come to rescue you
from hope.
You know my shape
through the envelop: a chip
off the guillotine.
Don't toss me away;
I bring news of the world,
which is full of no.
