The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady

The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French 336

Marylou participated in a medical experiment during her pregnancy. This was one of those things where the participants were not told and, in fact, were lied to. As a result, her daughter died at a young age of bone cancer and Marylou has had long lasting physical ailments. Now 50 years later, a article that mentioned the doctor in charge of the study has prompted Marylou to seek revenge. She changes her name and moves to Tallahassee to stalk Wilson Spriggs looking for an opportunity to kill him. She finds Spriggs living with his daughter and her family and suffering from dementia. The plan isn't too well thought out but she really wants revenge so she associates with the family and starts torturing the old man by taking him out and telling him her plan to kill him. His memory is bad enough that he can't really tell anyone else what is going on because he forgets but he know he doesn't really like Marylou (now Nancy Archer) very much. Marylou isn't the only one in this story who has issues. The entire family is in various states of dysfunction some of them more "fun" than others. In the end, this motley crew makes progress and Marylou focuses her homicidal energy (of which there really isn't all that much) on someone who crosses the youngest daughter. This is a book I picked up based on the awesome cover and found it to be a lot of fun.
