Blank Confession by Pete Hautman 9781416913276 107 pages

National Book Award winner has penned another winner for young adults. Shayne Blank enters a police station with his confession (hence the title). But the book is not quite so straight forward. Who did he kill, was he justified and why is he confessing? I don't know if young folks are likely to have seen the classic Western, but this Shayne is almost a modern day "Shane", new in town and dealing with the baddies. Clever and compelling.
