This collection of essays, the famous Wellesley commencement
address, a novel (Heartbeat), a
screenplay (Sleepless in Seattle) her most recent play (Lucky Guy) and more.
Even though I have read and enjoyed several of these works before, I read every
word. She was a damn fine writer. A few weeks ago I read her sister’s recent
memoir, Sister, Mother, husband, dog. I
feel like I have just left the Ephron world, a New York world that savors fine
food and witty repartee. She had a lot of bad breaks, a difficult mother,
unfaithful husband, but made the most of her talents and was successful in a
variety of careers.
