The sellout

The sellout / Paul Beatty 288 pgs.

I have to say that there is something in this book to offend pretty much everyone.  An odd tale of race relations, a crazy father and his effect on his son and a relationship between two people who seem meant for each other but who lost their way then found each other again.  The book starts and ends at the Supreme Court where our narrator's case has ended up. In between, is the story of how he tries to serve his community by forcing it back into existence.  Yes, this sounds odd and the book *is* odd but also pretty amazing for those not faint of heart.
