Hawkins presents us with some thought-provoking depictions of alcoholics, depression, unemployment, and stay-at-home moms, and makes us question our judgments of others, all while creating a thrilling story that ramps up in intensity and keeps us guessing until the last second. A great book, and well worth the wait.
