Yuge: 30 Years of Doonesbury on Trump by G.B. Trudeau, 112 pages.
Trudeau, the man who has been drawing the characters that inhabit the world of Doonesbury, since the early 1970s gives us a collection of his cartoons centered around the political aspirations of current GOP nominee, billionaire, and all-around amusing fellow Donald Trump. Trump first publicly expressed his interest in the presidency back in 1987. Since then Trump has floated trial balloons, and talked about how about the great love people have for him, and how badly they want him to run. His language, his self-aggrandizing, and (what always seemed to be) his self-delusion haven't changed. That he may actually have been right all along, that people may bear him enough love, still seems amazing. Trudeau seems to get Trump's voice and temperament right, and Trudeau seems to have always annoyed the candidate. Worth reading for fans of Doonesbury or those interested in Trump's candidacy.
