Tenth of December by George Saunders 251 pgs.
I really liked the stories but I'm not sure that it is the best book of the year. But really, when one gets such high praise, it is hard to start reading with a unsullied perspective. Much of this really makes you think. It is not easy to read when you are tired or distracted as there are parts that aren't obvious and take some brain power. Still, this is very worthwhile and I like seeing short stories "in the news" since I've always loved reading them.
