Willpower


Willpower:  rediscovering the greatest human strength by Roy F. Baumeister & John Tierney

Willpower a hot topic lately.  I can think of at least two other recent books who deal with this topic.  This one was so good, I might try to read the other two.  How can it be that  we as humans can't estimate our time correctly or stop procrastinating or lose weight when we want to?  There is a lot of research and discovery behind these things and how self-control is such an important factor in our success and lack thereof, a factor in our failure. Willpower is like a muscle and when it gets worn out, we do some crazy things.  Of interest to me is the biological glucose factor that makes hungry people make bad choices.  Think about that one for a minute and then realize why your diet goals are not met.  Another huge factor is sleep.  We are at our best well rested and fed so conquer those two things and go out and rule the world!
