Mattched by Ally Condle 366 pages

In a futuristic society, teens attend a ceremony in which they are notified whom they have been chosen to marry. Cassia's event is marred when she sees not one face, but two on her personal screen -- her best friend Xander and Ky, an orphan at a lower social level. She is not sure who she should talk to about this strange occurrence and is later reassured by a governmental figure that this was a random accident. She is assigned to work with Ky as partners on a intern project and is drawn to him. Although he has a menial job, he knows how to write (personal computers has made old fashioned writing extinct). He also can quote poems that had been destroyed (only 100 poems were allowed to survive the great literature purge) and is especially fond of Dylan Thomas.
Cassia's grandfather has reached the maximum age and the family is assembled for his ceremonial sendoff. His last words and bequests cause some problems with the all-seeing government.
This is well written and thought provoking. Readers will ponder the meaning of family, privacy and personal freedom.
