Charlie starts doing what he does best...reporting, talking to people, getting the lay of the land. This book may shock you, it may depress you, it may teach you something. You will have a hard time putting it down once you start. I hope Detroit isn't the canary in the coalmine and this is the direction all urban areas are going but who knows? Fewer diverse opportunities to actually make a living can't bode well for many.
