Yeah, best of times, worst of times, etc. Some in my book club discussed wanting to
read some Dickens over the summer and decided to dip a toe in with this classic
– ‘cause it’s shorter than most of the rest.
A surprising number hadn’t read it.
I remembered loving it as a romantic teenager when we read it in school. And it was the best, worst, etc. I found the early pages a bit more of a slog
than I remembered, but became caught up with the increasing pace, drama, and excitement
of the last third of the book. Ah, poor
Sydney Carton…..it is a far, far
better thing…..etc. 250 pp.
