Wittgenstien Jr.

Wittgenstien Jr. / Lary Iyer 226 pgs.

A class of Cambridge college kids are a little unsure about their philosophy lecturer.  He is tormented but may be a genius.  They bestow the nickname "wittgenstein jr" and proceed to be motivated by him.  He makes them want to be smarter, deeper, not just another group jumping into business and industry after graduation.  The idea of graduation is pretty scary. They drown their fears in nasty cocktail mixtures and sit around on rooftops with their booze and drugs. For Peters and Ede, they talk and talk. Peters ends up in a relationship with the teacher.  Partly comedy and partly ridiculously sad this book does a decent job of capturing a time in life when a lot of change is coming.
