The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion 978-1-4767-2908-4 295 pages

Don Tillman, a brilliant geneticist, is rather clueless when communicating with people. He immerses himself into two somewhat unrelated projects: the Wife Project, which he hopes through careful use of surveys to find the perfect wife and the Father Project, which he hopes to help Rosie, a “flunkee” of the Wife Project find the identity of her biological father. While the reader quickly identifies Don as showing many Asperger traits, Don stumbles through a variety of social calamities. He seems totally blind to the inept advice his mentor disperses to him. Unique characters inhabit these ivory towers. A very smart book and totally unlike any romance you have previously read.
