The good girls revolt

The good girls revolt: how the women of Newsweek sued their bosses and changed the workplace/Lynn Povich 249 pgs.

I wish this book was about a much older time...you know, something from the late 1800's or something.  Unfortunately, the events featured in this book happened in the late 1960's and early 70's when a group of women working for Newsweek magazine realized they had the same Ivy League educations and backgrounds as the male writers and reporters but no opportunity to become either.  So they got together and sued the magazine which was, ironically, owned by Katherine Graham who was duly confused about which side she should be on.  This book would be a good one to read along with Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In.
