Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Book Store

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Book Store by Robin Sloan  288 pp.

After losing his techie job for a bagel chain, Clay finds work at the title bookstore on the night shift. However, the bookstore is a less bookstore and more private lending library for a strange secret society. Clay uses his computer skills and that of a Google staffer to try to decipher the mysterious code that society members are obsessed with. This story has something for just about everyone: ancient books & arcane knowledge, high tech computer stuff, mysterious happenings, interesting characters, and a little bit of cloak & dagger, all in an original, fun story.
