Preacher-Gone to Texas, Until the End of the World, and Proud Americans
Preacher-Gone to Texas-199 pages, Until the End of the World-255 pages, and Proud Americans-239 pages- Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.
The first three volumes of the classic graphic novel series had some good moments, but I am not a big fan. I don't think I will finish reading this multi-volume series involving an absent God, a vengeful bunch of angels, demons, vampires, and Texans. It seems to jump from improbable scene to improbable scene congratulating itself for being bold and daring while never really transcending its comic-bookness with an engaging idea. Maybe I'm just old and crabby, though.
