McCullers published this book at 23. I think I had a letter to the editor published about the same time in life. Her writing is great, the story is great, the complexity of the situations is great. I admire everything I've read by her and need to complete the set. Her humanity and understanding of big issues is amazing. Every part of this book reveals something about everyday life that is missed by most of us but is so real when put into her words.
Do I sound like a crazy fan girl? I guess maybe that is accurate.
