Poems:
1962-1997 by Robert Lax, 353 pages Lax's simply worded, repetitive poems contain great beauty and are a joy to read. I had never heard of Robert Lax before I saw this book. I am glad that I picked it up and read it, and I hope that others get the chance to read his poems too. Lax is described in some places as a writer of concrete poems, in others as an abstract writer, and elsewhere as a minimalist (also as a concrete-minimalist and an abstract-minimalist). Lax, who died in 2000, is also described as under-appreciated, and as a poet that other poets admired. Heartily recommended. Check our catalog |
