Not Quite the Classics

Not Quite the Classics by Colin Mochrie  215 pp.

Actor/comedian Colin Mochrie is best known as one of the improv team on the t.v. show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" This collection is an example of his off-the-wall type of humor. I nearly abandoned the book when I found the first story about Sherlock Holmes attempts at stand-up comedy to be less than satisfying. However, later stories were an improvement and were very amusing. I particularly liked "Tale of Two Critters" in which a human-like coyote becomes obsessed with a six foot tall roadrunner and the "Cat in the Hat" parody with zombies. It's a mixed bag but I paid less than $2 for the Kindle version so I'm not disappointed.
