Trust no aunty

Trust no aunty / Maria Qamar, 178 pages

Maria Qamar lives in Toronto where here family moved when she was a kid.  Raised in a traditional Indian family, she reveals here the cultural significance of Auntys...women who may be related by blood or maybe just related by knowing you.  They are EVERYWHERE and in your business.  I loved this peak into a culture where by definition the author is a disappointment to her parents due to her not becoming a doctor.  Beautiful art work with a memoir~ish feel that is to be read with a tongue firmly in your cheek.
