Off Season by James Sturm, 212 pages
In this muted graphic novel, Sturm presents a man struggling with a crumbling marriage, dicey finances, and oblivious children during the days surrounding the 2016 presidential election. Told from the main character's point of view, I could almost feel the mounting pressures building up on his shoulders as the story unfolded. It's very real, very relatable, and not particularly hopeful. But it's wonderfully presented, and a great picture of what so many of us were going through at that time.
