Asymmetry

Asymmetry / Lisa Halliday, 275 pages.

Linda just wrote about this book here and I have to agree with her.  The book starts out about an affair between a young editorial assistant and a much older writer.  It is kind of sweet but nothing much happens.  Part two takes us to a story of an Iraqi family and focuses on a man, Amar, who is held at Heathrow and ultimately denied entry into the UK.  What is the relationship of these two stories?  I have no idea.  I mean, both stories are interesting, but why do they both exist in this book?  I have no problem admitting that I'm clueless about this book.
