The lemon grove, by Helen Walsh

Jenn and Greg have rented the same house in a lemon grove on Majorca for many annual holidays.  They have shared it with their now teen-aged daughter, Emma.  This year, Emma has begged to bring Nathan, her first real boyfriend, along on the trip.  She fears that if she goes off without him, some other girl will capture him in her absence.  As it turns out, she has good reason.  The self-possessed and striking Nathan is well aware of his charms and willing to dispense them freely – including to his hostess, Jenn, who falls under his spell.  A young satyr, Nathan is less a real person than an embodiment of lust and desire, a snake in their Eden.  In the wake of the events of that week in summer, will the family survive?  Almost, but on the last page one fears, probably not.  200 pp.
