The dinner

The dinner/Herman Koch 292 pgs.

This starts out being just a story about a dinner.  Two brothers and their wives are getting together.  The more we learn, the more interesting the situation becomes.  One of the brothers is the defacto prime minister in the next election.  The other is an unemployed teacher on "leave".  The wives, at first, seem less central to the story.  Of course there is so much more to it.  The reason for the dinner is to discuss what to do about some trouble their sons are in.  The cousins have done something sort of stupid...oh wait, maybe it is more than just stupid.  I started this book and didn't get too far into it before I could not put it down.  To avoid spoilers, I won't give any more information about the characters.  If you liked Gone Girl or any other psychological  character studies, this book may be for you.
