Victoria by Daisy Goodwin 404 pp.
As fictionalized versions of British royalty go, this one is okay. It is the novelization of the PBS/Masterpiece series "Victoria". The story covers the years from just prior to her becoming Queen of England to her betrothal to her cousin Albert of Saxe-Coburg. This book makes much of Victoria's crush on Prime Minister, Lord Melbourne. I have to admit I enjoyed Goodwin's novel The American Heiress better than this one. And I believe Cynthia Harrod-Eagles' I, Victoria is a much better fictional account of the life of England's second longest reigning monarch.
