Paris to the Moon by Adam Gopnik 338 pp.
I picked this up as an audiobook on a sale table for $5--at Old Time Pottery of all places. It was more than worth the investment. Adam Gopnik moved to Paris with his wife and son. The move was for more than just his job as a writer for The New Yorker. Gopnik and his wife shared a love for the city and were excited at the chance to raise their young son there. This book is a collection of articles that were published in the "Paris Journals" section of TNY as well as writings from his personal journal. The anecdotes include touching, perplexing, and/or humorous accounts of their day to day life, parenting in Paris, Christmases battling French style holiday lights, carousels, Ferris wheels, greeting the new millennium, and the birth of a daughter. It's a charming light read.
