My Boyfriend is a Bear by Pamela Ribon and Cat Farris, 167 pages
You may think that the title of this graphic novel is some sort of metaphor. Perhaps the titular boyfriend is particularly messy or hairy or large and grunty. As it turns out, yes he is, but this is no metaphor — the boyfriend is actually a bear. An American black bear, to be specific.
This is the ridiculously cute and fun story of Nora, a woman who has dated one human jerk after another, meeting and unexpectedly falling for a bear. He's cuddly, he gets along with her cat (well, for the most part), and he treats her better than any other guy she's ever dated. So what if her parents and friends don't really get it? Do they ever really get any relationship she's ever been in? I loved this book.
